St. George Marathon
26.2 Miles
I ran my first marathon October 1, 2011. I was prepared and excited! The first 7 miles went by so fast. I pushed myself up the hills from mile 7-10 and still felt good, but I decided to take an anti-fatigue pill even though I didn't train with them. At mile 13 I wasn't feel very good and I was about 3 minutes slower than I had been on my 22 mile training run. I looked forward to seeing my friend Jessica who was volunteering at the 15 mile aid station and Jack and the kids who were waiting for me at mile 16.

I jogged the last 2 miles and was so glad to see the finish line. I finished with a time of 4:32. When I saw Jack I started to cry. He gave me a big hug, flowers, and a gift card for a massage. He is the greatest! Within hours I was feeling better and ready for the next marathon. I signed up for the Sand Hollow Marathon in March and I plan on running a few 1/2 marathons in between. I can't wait for the St. George Marathon next year so I can kill this year's time.
