3rd Birthday

My mom came into town the weekend I ran my first 10K. I ran from Springdale to Grafton. My mom was there at the finish line to greet me. My time was 55:03 which was my goal.

Grafton is a ghost town and mom took a tour of the cemetery while waiting for me.

Guy and his Grandma
Guy really likes dressing up as superheroes and fighting bad guys, so I planned a superman birthday party for him. There were 10 two-three year olds and a few younger siblings that attended.
I made a shiny red cape for each superhero, and they decorated black foam masks I cut out. The superheroes then had to make it through an obstacle course to save a stuffed animal that had been tied up by a bad guy.

I tried to form an S on each cupcake with M&Ms, but it didn't look like I envisioned it.
Guy's friend Jace was really excited about the presents and wanted to help him.
Look how cute Guy's face is!
Jack's dad flew into town for Guy's birthday and to help us move. We decided to have his birthday party on the same day we planned to move. Why?

John was great with the kids and he gave Guy a remote control tarantula and a Transformer helmet for his birthday.

Guy helped me make another cake later that week when it was his actual birthday.
Then he got to open Grandma Peggy's gifts. Aren't these shirts and bandannas so cute!

He loves Star Wars and he couldn't wait to put on this Storm Trooper costume.
Grandpa and Grandma Hoskins sent him money for his birthday and he went to Wal Mart to buy an action figure to match his new costume.

25-Hour Race

Jack and 5 friends entered a 25-hour bike race near Virgin, Utah. The race started on Saturday, October 31 at 10 am and teams were on their last lap the following day at 10 am. The time change made it a 25 hour race instead of 24 hours. Jack was the first to ride from his team and so he had to run from the start line to his bike. He is in the middle of the picture with a yellow jersey on.

Here is a picture of him finishing a lap. They scheduled laps so that Jack had a big break around 6 pm so he could go trick-or-treating with us.

We were there for nearly 4 hours on Saturday and the kids got filthy. Luckily the red dirt came out of their clothes except for their white socks. Sloan worked on Jack's bike while Guy made rock towers all around camp.

Guy is following in his father's tread marks.
Here is most of the team. Joel is the rider in the middle. He is the fastest on the team and he is 67 years old. He is awesome! Guy really wanted numbers for his bike. Finish line!
Quentin was the 6th rider, but he wasn't there at the end of the race so his wife filled in for the picture. From left to right: Jack, Monte, Bonnie, Quentin's wife DJ, Joel, and Bob. Go team!

Halloween

Here is Guy in his robot costume with his robot pumpkin. I helped him spray paint the pumpkin and I held the nails and bolts while he hammered them in. He entered a pumpkin contest at the Nature Center and won! He got candy, gift certificates for ice cream, and a Mr. Potato Head pumpkin decorating kit.
The day before Halloween we went to the Hurricane library for story time and a Halloween parade. Guy got restless during one of the stories and fell off his chair. He hit his eye on the corner of a chair and gave himself a black eye. We chose the Spiderman costume instead of the robot costume because it is easier to move around in.
On Halloween, we went to LDS church for Trunk-or-Treat. Jack scheduled a break from his 25-hour bike race and was able to come with us. You can't tell in the picture, but Guy's robot lights glow.
Sloan and I reused caveman costumes I made for Guy and I two years ago.

Staheli Farm

Jack took us exploring along the Virgin River. Then we had a picnic lunch at a park in Springdale. Isn't it amazing how a boy can turn anything in a weapon.

We went to the Staheli Farm with our friends Jessica, Corey, and their cute son Collin.

Guy made some good music with this washboard. He also liked getting into the pen with the animals.

The next day we went to the Staheli Farm again with Guy's preschool group. It was a fun field trip. Aren't the kids all so cute! Guy was cautious petting the rooster since he was bitten by a chicken last year when we visited this farm.

Daxton and Guy are best friends. They could have rode in separate cars, but chose not to.

We took a tractor hay ride out to a pumpkin patch. Guy picked a little pumpkin and shared it with Sloan.
