Family Update

Family Update

I came across Jeremy Jessop's high school yearbook when I was helping the family unpack from their move. Check out this awesome picture of Jack!

The kids got to go ice blocking with friends. We need to travel to see some snow.

Veterans' Day in Washington City, Utah was nice. We watched the parade and walked through the flags.

I am still blogging about local activities and events at www.stgeorgemom.com. I also started blogging for www.thespectrum.com, the local newspaper. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet some other local bloggers (seriously, they are blog-famous!)

We said goodbye to our community garden. Guy wanted to take pictures of the plants before they went to "heaven." There was a cold spell coming through the next day, so we harvested what we could and cleaned out the garden. The kids really enjoyed gardening and I plan to do it again next year.

Snow Canyon Race
I ran the Snow Canyon Half Marathon with my friend Brooke Todd and Jeremy Jessop. I had a PR of 1:43. Guy ran the 1/2 mile kids race and came in second. He was up against kids nearly twice his age.

Jack ran a half marathon with his friend Cory called the Jive Turkey Half. I guess it got warm because Jack has never stripped off his shirt before. Gotta love St. George weather!

I am riding my bike more and maintaining a half marathon running base. My next marathon is the Ogden Marathon on my birthday, May 18th.

Halloween 2012

Halloween 2012

This year Guy said he wanted a store bought costume. Bummer for me. He wanted something scary, so we found a skull man costume. He also wanted his pumpkin to look like Frankenstein this year. Sloan wanted to be her favorite princess, Snow White. She applied make-up to her princess pumpkin and won a prize at the Tonaquint Nature Center's Halloween event for kids.

First visiting a fortune teller.
From the look on Guy's face I would guess it was not a good fortune.

We also attended a local Halloween fair at the St. George Town Square.

At Coral Canyon Elementary, Guy participated in a Halloween parade with his kindergarten class. Pictured with him is his friend Tannen, or should I say Indiana Jones. Look! It is October and the weather is so nice.

We also went to the Washington City Community Center's Halloween event. The kids enjoyed getting to dress up again and play games with their friends the Jessops.

Halloween night we had dinner at a block party in the Jessop's neighborhood. Then the dads took the kids trick-or-treating while the moms handed out candy. Little Caroline was pooped out.

FYI: Jeremy Jessop is Jack's best friend from high school. We were so lucky to have them live near us for a few months. Their son Miles loves LEGOs too and he was so great to play with Guy. Sammy (the Rodeo Queen) wants to be a teacher and is a big helper. Sloan and Evelyn were best friends. Everyone loved little Caroline and I was blessed to have their mother, Angela as a good friend. We were sad to see them leave just before Christmas, but we enjoyed out time with them.
