A New Year

Happy New Year!
We stayed home on New Year's Eve and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows as a family. Jack got a new fire pit for Christmas and Jessica and Chad gave us some camping gear including roasting sticks.

Guy can't handle a little cold.
 Time for New Year's Resolutions:
Shannon: Become a better runner. I have started training for my second marathon.
Jack: Become a triathlete. If his knees will cooperate.
Sloan: Become a dancer.
Guy: Learn to read before Kindergarten starts this fall.
1st Day of Dance Class: Ballet & Tap

Guy's first book read by himself.

Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas!
Pillow Pets
Guy's big present was a LEGO table with 2 chairs. Sloan got a chest with princess dresses and accessories.
Opening Stockings
Sloan is so excited to open this robotic dog that she is moving too fast to get a good picture.
Guy got the Star Wars Millennium Falcon with Han Solo and Chewbacca action figures.
Opening Grandma Peggy's gifts.
I received Toms shoes, exercise clothes, and a new jacket. Jack also got exercise clothes, cologne, and a fire pit for the backyard. Later in the afternoon we went as a family to see the new Muppet movie.
The Muppets
Funny quote by Guy:
"Mom, you have to see this. My poop is shaped like a candy cane. It is huge!"

Let It Snow!

Brian Head With Friends
This was Guy's first time on skis. He wanted a snowboard, but skiing is easier to learn.
Snow Bunny Sloan
Jack put Guy between his legs and they flew down the slopes together.
Sloan didn't last long sledding.
Everyone took a lunch break and then Jack and his old high school buddies went snowboarding. Below is Alan's truck being pulled out of a snowbank. Don't drive with snowboard boots on.
Alan Baum, Jack, Spencer Baum
Guy went back out in the afternoon. He and Jack rode the lift and skied down the mountain several times. Guy asked him to go faster and faster.
I love this picture. It was very cold, but we had a great time.

Happy Holidays

 Decorating for Christmas

Washington City Tree Lighting Ceremony
Sloan was so excited to see Santa!

Pajama Christmas Party
Washington City Community Center

Sloan was excited to see The Grinch, but got nervous being so close to him. The line for Santa was too long and Sloan couldn't handle it. I was dragging her out the door with Guy screaming, "No, I want to see Santa!" when Mrs. Clause ushered us back in and put us at the front of the line. I didn't make eye contact with any other parents or kids still waiting in the long line. Can you tell we have all been crying in the picture?

Jingle Bells

Sloan added some jingle to the songs too.

I am so proud of Guy. So is Sloan who yelled, "Hi Guy!" just as they started singing.
